“Where do you sail?”

Air YorkThe question is answered magnificently in this photo by pilot Chris Herion of Queens Lake. His aerial shot captures the breadth of the lower York River as it extends out Sara Creek and across to Yorktown, below the Coleman Bridge (on the right, out of view). The boats in the foreground reside at York River Yacht Haven, undergoing a reported $500,000 refurbishing by Suntex Marinas of Dallas. The peninsula in the middle of the picture portrays the 1720s plantation Little England. Behind the pier at the upper right lies the US Coast Guard Training Center. The defunct refinery is in the upper left, beyond the Dominion Virginia Power smokestack. The other question people raise is, “Why don’t more people get out on the water to enjoy the adventure?”
