Ohio Sailors

DSCN2835Bill Ackenbom and Andrea Anes moved from the foothills of the western Appalachians to a more civilized Columbus, Ohio, where he works in engineering and she teaches at a private day school. “I make today what I made in 1978,” she beamed, “and I would just as soon finish out my career teaching there.” He was in familiar waters on the York River, having worked with his dad years ago operating the Mobjack Sailing School on the nearby North River. Bill ran the Williamsburg Charter boat on a delicate straight course as Glen Miller helped set the spinnaker for a five-mile run back toward the Coleman Bridge.
